A lightweight aluminium alloy key carabiner with a spring-loaded gate, in two sizes. The Flat Nasu-Kan profile is pear-shaped and flat-sided — wider at the gate end, so it takes a bunch of keys or a strap more easily than a D shape, and sits closer to the bag than round stock.

Tips from X-Boundaries

• Size 5 at 6g is the keyring size — small enough that you forget it is there. Size 6 at 12g is the one that clips a water bottle or a pouch to a pack strap.
• Aluminium will not rust in Singapore humidity the way a plated steel clip does. That is the practical reason to spend more than a hardware-shop equivalent.
• The flat profile catches on less than a round clip — it does not snag on a jacket pocket when you pull your keys out, and it does not chew webbing on a pack strap.
• Buy both sizes. They do different jobs and together they cost less than lunch.
