Care Information

To maintain the water repellency and breathability of the CLIMAPLUS™ MESH lining, follow these steps:

  • Washing: Machine wash in warm water (below 40°C) using a gentle or delicate cycle. Use a laundry net to protect the lightweight fabric.
  • Detergent: Use a mild, neutral detergent. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, as they clog the pores of the fabric and strip the water-repellent coating.
  • Drying: Line dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, as high heat can damage the fine nylon fibers and elastic components.
  • Ironing: If necessary, iron on a low setting using a pressing cloth. Do not iron the zippers or elastic cuffs.
  • Storage: Ensure the jacket is completely dry before storing. Avoid leaving it compressed in its stuff sack for long periods; hang it up to maintain the loft of the mesh lining.

Expert Tips from X-Boundaries

1. The "Magic" of Layering

This jacket is the ultimate "Goldilocks" layer for Singaporeans traveling to temperate climates. Because it is lightweight and wind-resistant, it works perfectly over a t-shirt for autumn mornings (15-20°C) or as a mid-layer under a heavier parka for snowy winter destinations.

2. Reviving Water Repellency

If you notice rain stops "beading" on the surface, the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish might be worn. After washing, a quick, very low-heat iron (with a cloth) or using a technical spray-on water repellent can revive the outer shell's ability to shed water.

3. Travel-Ready

Since kids tend to get hot and cold quickly, use the included stuff sack to clip the jacket to the outside of their school bag or travel pack. It’s so light they’ll forget they’re carrying it until the wind picks up.

4. Safety and Longevity

Encourage kids to use the Zip End Guard (the little fabric flap at the top). It’s designed not just for comfort against the chin, but to prevent the zipper from snagging on inner layers, extending the life of the garment.
