A 155g wind shell that packs into its own chest pocket and disappears into a daypack. Lightweight but durable 40-denier nylon taffeta takes the wind off you on a ridge, at a viewpoint or on a cold bus, and the cut leaves room for layers underneath. The hoodless version of the Wind Blast — lighter, simpler, and easier to wear under a pack or a helmet.

Tips from X-Boundaries
- Hood or no hood is the only real decision here. The hooded Wind Blast (#1103322) adds 23g and head protection; this one is cleaner under a pack strap and a helmet, and it does not flap when you turn your head into the wind.
- Wind, not cold air, is what strips heat off you above the treeline. 155g here often does more than a fleece twice the weight.
- The water repellent finish sheds a passing shower. It is not a rain jacket. For sustained rain in Malaysia or on a Japan trek, carry a proper waterproof shell.
- Sized to layer over a fleece or a light down jacket — do not size up further.
Care
Follow the garment care label. Wash and dry as directed to keep the water repellent finish working — a clean shell repels water better than a dirty one.
