Montbell's Neige Down Jacket fills a supple matte shell with 800 fill-power EX Down — high warmth for very little weight, in a jacket that reads as everyday outerwear rather than technical kit. A proprietary quilting pattern improves thermal efficiency and cuts weight at the same time.

Tips from X-Boundaries
- At 278g packing to roughly the size of a 1L bottle, this is the layer that makes a Japan, Korea or New Zealand trip possible out of carry-on. It lives in the top of the pack rather than on your back for most of the day.
- Sewn-through construction is lighter than box-wall but leaves a cold line at each seam. For Singapore-based travellers doing city winters and shoulder-season trekking that trade is worth making; for sustained sub-zero camping, look at a box-walled parka instead.
- Sizing is Asian cut. If you normally take a European or US size, come in and try one — we hold stock at both stores.
- Store it uncompressed. Down loses loft permanently if it lives in its stuff sack between trips.
Care
Follow the garment care label. Down needs a dedicated down cleaner rather than ordinary detergent, and a low tumble dry with dryer balls to restore loft. We stock Montbell O.D. Maintenance Down Cleaner in store.

60L duffel bag is ideal for porters and horse back. Very lightweight, fold down to small pack, strong zippers and materials. Seen it in action and decided to get one myself.
