Care & Maintenance
Montbell's own instructions for this garment:
- Hand wash cold, or a gentle machine cycle with cold water
- Use a down-specific detergent
- Do not bleach. Do not iron
- Hang to dry, away from direct sunlight. If using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat
- Patting the garment helps restore loft to the down
- Dry clean with petroleum solvent only. Wet cleaning: mild process
- Washing once at the end of the season is enough. Frequent washing may damage the fabric
Because the shell is deliberately ultralight, an occasional down cluster may work through the weave. Reach behind the fabric, pull the cluster back into its chamber and gently massage the area — the threads re-align and self-seal.

Tips from X-Boundaries
Almost nobody in Singapore needs a down jacket at home. What our customers need is one that disappears into hand luggage — and at 116 g compressing to the size of a small mango, this is the one that does.
It earns its place on long-haul flights, over-air-conditioned offices, and the cold hour before sunrise on a trek. On the mountain, wear it as the mid-layer under a shell rather than the outer layer: the 7-denier fabric is impressively strong for its weight, but it is not meant to take pack straps and rock all day.
Japanese sizing runs closer to the body than European. If you are between sizes, or plan to layer beneath it, take the larger one — or come in and try it on and we will get the fit right with you.
