  • Weight: ~230 g
  • Packed Size: 7 x 7 x 14 cm

Key Features

  • K-Mono CUT Pattern: A proprietary sewing pattern that drastically reduces the number of seams. This cuts weight, improves durability by removing friction points, and enhances overall waterproofness.
  • Underarm Pit Zips: Smooth-operating ventilation zippers allow you to quickly dump heat and moisture during intense climbs or fast-paced treks without taking the jacket off.
  • Tri-Axial Hood: Fully adjustable at three points for a dialed-in fit that flawlessly follows your head's movement without obstructing peripheral vision.
  • Aqua-Tectâ„¢ Zippers: Weather-resistant zippers eliminate the need for bulky storm flaps, further reducing the overall weight of the shell.
  •  Harness-Compatible Pockets: Two elevated chest pockets provide easy, secure access to essentials even when wearing a heavy backpack hip belt or climbing harness.

Care Instructions

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity of the GORE-TEX membrane and the outer water-repellent finish:

  • Wash: Machine wash warm on a gentle, mild process. Zip up all zippers and fasten all hook-and-loop tabs before washing.
  • Detergent: Use a technical apparel wash (like Nikwax Tech Wash) or a mild liquid detergent. Never use fabric softeners, bleach, or stain removers, as they permanently clog the breathable membrane and strip the DWR finish.
  • Drying: Tumble dry on low heat for 20 minutes to help reactivate the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. Alternatively, line dry in the shade.
  • Ironing/Dry Cleaning: Do not dry clean. Cool iron if absolutely necessary, but avoid ironing over zippers, logos, or seam-taped areas.

X-Boundaries Professional Tips

  • Proactive Venting: Don't wait until you are already sweating to open the pit zips. Unzip them at the base of a steep ascent to proactively manage your microclimate and keep the inside of the GORE-TEX completely dry.
  • Reactivate Your DWR: If you notice water "wetting out" (soaking into the face fabric rather than beading up and rolling off), the breathability of the jacket will plummet. Wash the jacket to remove sweat salts and dirt, then toss it in the dryer on low heat to resurrect the DWR coating. If it still wets out, it’s time to apply a spray-on DWR treatment.
  • Stuff Sack Discipline: Always use the included stuff sack to pack the jacket. Keeping it tightly rolled inside its dedicated bag protects the ultralight 20-denier ripstop fabric from snagging on sharp gear, crampons, or zippers inside your backpack.
