The Colorado Coat is two coats in one. Reverse it for a sleek flat face or a classic quilted face, both built on 800 fill-power EX Down in a three-layer construction with an additional nylon layer that blocks cold air and holds warmth. A travel and city coat first, with the down quality Montbell puts in its mountain range.

Tips from X-Boundaries
- The 70-denier shell is heavier than the 20-denier used on Montbell's Neige range. That is deliberate — it takes airport handling, train racks and daily wear far better than an ultralight face fabric will.
- Reversibility earns its keep on a trip more than at home. The quilted face for the mountain town, the flat face for dinner, one coat in the bag either way.
- The hood is close-fitting rather than helmet-compatible. For alpine use with a climbing helmet, look at Montbell's Alpine range instead.
- Store it uncompressed. Down loses loft permanently if it is left crushed between trips.
Care
Follow the garment care label. Down needs a dedicated down cleaner rather than ordinary detergent, and a low tumble dry with dryer balls to restore loft. We stock Montbell O.D. Maintenance Down Cleaner in store.
