The Cortina Down Coat is the full-length version of Montbell's travel down range — an ample fill of 800 fill-power EX Down behind DRYTEC, a breathable weather-resistant fabric that blocks wind and sheds light rain so the insulation underneath stays dry and lofted. The matte, subdued finish keeps it as usable in a city as on a trip.

Tips from X-Boundaries
- Choose between the two Cortinas by trip, not by budget. Full length covers the thighs and is the warmer coat standing still — waiting for trains, walking a city at night. The half-length (#1101740) is 60g lighter and clears a pack hipbelt.
- The weather-resistant shell is the point. Down collapses when it gets wet, so a face fabric that sheds drizzle protects the thing you actually paid for.
- Tan reads as a smart-casual coat rather than technical kit. If this is your one winter coat for a Japan or Europe trip, that matters more than most people expect.
- In sustained rain, wear a shell over it. DRYTEC buys you time, not a downpour.
- Store it uncompressed between trips — down that lives in its stuff sack loses loft permanently.
Care
Follow the garment care label. Down needs a dedicated down cleaner rather than ordinary detergent, and a low tumble dry with dryer balls to restore loft. We stock Montbell O.D. Maintenance Down Cleaner in store.

60L duffel bag is ideal for porters and horse back. Very lightweight, fold down to small pack, strong zippers and materials. Seen it in action and decided to get one myself.
