Tips from X-Boundaries

• This is the hoodless CLIMAGRID — 26 g lighter than the hooded version and the better choice if you already wear a hooded shell over the top. Two hoods stacked is one too many.
• Grid fleece breathes far better than flat fleece of the same weight. The channels hold warm air; the gaps let sweat out. It is the mid-layer for moving, not for sitting still.
• At 298 g it packs small enough to live in the daypack through a shoulder-season trip rather than being left behind.
• Pilling where pack straps rub is normal on grid fleece. A cheap fabric shaver removes it and the garment is unaffected.
