Friction on the fabric surface may result in pilling. If this occurs, use a fabric shaver to remove the pills.
Tips from X-Boundaries
- Grid fleece is the one to reach for when you are moving. The interior grid traps warm air in the channels while the gaps let sweat out — it breathes far better than a flat fleece of the same weight.
- At 324 g this is lighter than the Trail Action range and the better choice when the cold is intermittent rather than constant. For sustained cold, the Trail Action fleece is warmer.
- The hard face is deliberate. It slides under a shell instead of grabbing at it, and it sheds snow rather than collecting it.
- Pilling is normal on grid fleece where pack straps rub. A cheap fabric shaver takes it off and the garment is unaffected — do not let it put you off the fabric.

This is to replace what I’d lost on a recent trip. The goretex works very well, shielded me from sudden downpour. The cap is also very fitted for me, not all caps can do. Though the price here in SG is $20 more than what I got from Japan but it’s worth the buy!
