A three-way parka for snow sports: a waterproof SUPER DRY-TEC hard shell over a removable 800 fill power EX Down liner. Wear both in the cold, the shell alone in wet spring weather, or the down liner on its own around camp. The hood is ski-helmet compatible with a tri-axial adjustment system, and the outer shell carries five pockets.

Care & Maintenance
This is two garments, and they are washed differently. Always unzip the down liner from the shell first and wash them separately.
The outer shell
- Wash with a technical wash made for waterproof garments — never ordinary laundry liquid, and never fabric softener or bleach
- Close every zip and wash it on its own. Rinse twice so no detergent is left in the fabric
- Heat revives the water beading. Tumble dry on low, or press with a warm iron through a cloth — never directly on zips or seam tape
- When water soaks in rather than beading up, re-proof with a wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment
The down liner
- Down needs a little care and very little washing. Wash it at the end of the season, not after every trip
- Use a down-specific detergent. Ordinary detergent strips the natural oils that let down loft
- Cold water, gentle cycle or hand wash. Do not bleach, do not iron
- Tumble dry on low if you have a dryer; otherwise hang out of direct sunlight and be patient — down takes hours. Patting it as it dries helps restore loft
- Store it loose, not compressed. Months in a stuff sack flatten 800 fill power permanently
Storing it in Singapore
Humidity is harder on a down parka than cold ever is. Damp down loses loft and can mildew, and a damp laminate breaks down faster.
- Never put either layer away damp, and never store the parka in its stuff sack between trips
- Hang both layers separately in a ventilated wardrobe — not a sealed box, not a vacuum bag
- Unpack the day you land home rather than the week after

Tips from X-Boundaries
Think of it as three jackets. Shell and liner together for a cold day on the mountain. The shell alone when it is wet but mild. The 800 fill power down liner on its own around the lodge, on the flight, or under a different shell years from now. That is what justifies the price against buying two separate garments.
The hood is ski-helmet compatible, which means it is cut large by design. Wind the tri-axial adjusters down and it still works over a bare head — but if you never wear a helmet, a slimmer hooded down parka may suit you better. Ask us and we will show you both.
Size it with the liner zipped in. Japanese sizing runs closer to the body than European, and this is a layered system, not a single jacket. We stock XS through XL, so there is room to go up a size if you plan to wear a fleece beneath — or come in and we will fit it with the liner in, which takes five minutes and saves a return.
